NIGHTRIP

    Nightrip is a very short, roguelike, atmospheric, deck builder, proof of concept game made for the GMTK2026 jam.

MECHANICS

    Battles are split into two phases: Planning Phase and Action Phase

    During planning phase, you draw cards out of your deck that you must place inside a timeline. During action phase, your cards will be played from left to right as the timeline counts down. 

    But you enemies have their own timelines of cards that will be played at the same time as yours! You must strategize according to your enemies' plans!

     You can manipulate your timeline and your enemies' timeline to your advantage, with the help of your cards. They might also do the same, so you must plan accordingly!

    You can fight one, two or three enemies at a time. During Planning Phase, you can choose the order in which you fight the enemies by clicking on them. Each fight with an enemy during Action Phase is considered a turn. At the start of every turn, your timeline resets, but your mana doesn't! Use it strategically!

    At the end of each battle you get to choose new cards to add to your deck. The number of cards you can choose is equal to the amount of enemies you fought!

CONTROLS

    You drag and drop cards into the timeline with the mouse! 

    Hovering over cards will tell you what they do. You should also hover enemy cards so you can prepare for the fight.

    You can left click enemies to increase their fight order, and right click them to decrease it.

    You can press Space to end the planning phase or to skip choosing rewards.

    ( Also I forgot to remove some testing keybinds from the jam build I hope you dont find them ;-; )
